DID YOU KNOW?
There is more than twice the number of calories in 1 gram of fat than there is in 1 gram of carbohyrdrate or protein.
Simply, that means that you can actually eat more food if your diet consisted of protein and carbohydrates and you cut out the fat in your diet.
DID YOU KNOW?
Carbohydrates get stored as bodily fat.
Carbohydrates are the energy source your body needs to functional efficiently on a daily basis. So as you are working out, your body is converting the carbohydrates to fuel for your body to be able to start and complete that workout. But your body is smart and saves excess carbohydrates as bodily fat in case you need more energy later.
DID YOU KNOW?
Protein doesn’t get stored as bodily fat.
Protein is the building block your body needs to help repair muscles after workouts. Our bodies need repair under many circumstances including when we work out. The soreness our body feels a day or two after our workouts is normal. It means we strained our bodies and shocked our muscles proprerly. Protein helps heal those muscles so you are ready the next time you workout. If your body takes in more protein than it needs though it just spits it right back out.
WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?
We all know fat calories are not good for us. The calories get stored as bodily fat. Now we know that excess carbohydrates get stored as bodily fat as well. So carbohydrates should be taken with moderation, but always remember you definitely do need carbohydrates to fuel your body. Which leaves us with protein. This source of calories is useful for the body and doesn’t get stored in any way as bodily fat. It’s a win-win situation with protein.
CONCLUSION
Cut down the fat from your diet and replace it with carbohydrates and protein. Consume just enough carbohydrates for you body to give you the energy you need on a daily basis. The rest of your diet should consist of protein.
